API's National Hybrid Introduces the Bus+™ Series For Immediate Release August 13, 2009 - NEW YORK, NY--API Nanotronics Corp. (OTCBB: APIA) ("API" or the "Company"), a leading supplier of electronic systems and sub-systems, components, encryption, secure communications, nano-optics and nanotechnology products to the aerospace, defense and communications sectors today announced that its National Hybrid division (NHI) in collaboration with an industry partner, Pulse, a Technitrol company, have introduced Bus+™, the world's smallest 1553 data bus transceiver/transformer integrated into a single package. Avionics and defense contractors require the best and most reliable components for their products, with miniaturization being a key characteristic, especially in air-borne applications. NHI and Pulse are proven leaders in the design and manufacture of components for MIL-STD-1553 data bus applications. As aircraft and remotely commanded vehicles become more sophisticated and capable, component manufacturers must respond with solutions that allow more functionality to be integrated into an ever-diminishing piece of board real-estate. This must be done through the use of high-technology miniaturization, allowing components to do more, in smaller formats that consume less power. NHI and Pulse have responded to this challenge by integrating the MIL-STD-1553 transceiver and transformer in a single package: the Bus+ offers customers superior flexibility and functionality in a low-power-consumption, small footprint package. Stephen B. Pudles, Chief Executive Officer of API Nanotronics Inc., said, "1553 Data bus offers great opportunity for innovative companies. We are responding to market needs and developing new products for our customers. NHI recently partnered with Sital Technologies to develop Aries™, a superior 1553 data bus Terminal solution with an industry leading IP core. We have now partnered with Pulse, a world leader in miniature transformer design to offer customers Bus+. We are proud of this collaboration and have high expectations for this product." "Pulse has partnered with NHI, a world class leader in MIL-STD-1553 data bus technology, to develop an integrated transceiver/transformer that allows avionics designers a higher level of design flexibility. By merging what has traditionally been two separate board level products into one, Bus+ will offer a truly innovative product utilizing the latest in manufacturing technologies to achieve higher levels of reliability and performance than what has been offered to industry in the past," explained Estro Vitantonio, General Manager of the Pulse Military/Aerospace Division. The NHi-1565 SOIC comes in a standard 5V or a low voltage 3.3V version. It measures .275 x .504 x .095 inches, and is available in a full military termperature range of -55°C to +125°C. It is also available in MacAir | | | | | | | | NHi-15137 Dual 1553 Transceiver -- A reliable drop-in replacement for the Aeroflex UT63M125
NHi-15137 receivers convert Manchester II bi-phase data into complementary digital outputs. The transmitters convert complementary digital inputs into Manchester II bi-phase data. Each transmitter has an independenat digital inhibit. The NHi-15137 comes in three package styles: plug-in, flat pack, and flat pack with gull wing formed leads. Three grades are available: Industrial -40°C to +85°C, Industrial -55°C to +125°C, and Military Grade. | | | | | | | | NHi-158xx Terminal+™ Series --NHi's Terminal+™, the ultimate Mil-Std-1553/1760 solution in a single package. NHi-158xx uses Pulse Transofrmers in the manufacture of these devices ensuring the best possible waveshapes & minimal dynamic offset. With dimensions of only 1.05" x 0.75" x 0.185" it still contains 117 over-sized balls with large pitch to eliminate solder shorting risks. It offers a 5V or 3.3V transceiver option, PCI target or local bus interface and dual port, double-buffered 64K x 16 SRAM. | | |

- Operates from 12, 16 or 20 MHz
- 72 pins PQFP 1.3 square inch package
| | | | |
|
|
Features:- Fully integrated Mil-Std-1553 noitce 2 compliant terminal
- Second source for DDC® MiniACE®
- Flexible processor/memory interface
DescriptionNHi-15506 Aries (Affordable Replacement Interface Engine Solution) device is part of the Aries family of Mil-Std-1553 products. These devices integrate Mil-Std-1553 protocol engine, a dual 5-volt transceiver, memory management, processor interface logic and 8K or 16K words of RAM in a 72 pin Plastic Quad Flat Pack (PQFP) package. The family contains internal address latches and bi-directional data buffers to provide a direct interface to a host processor bus. The memory managment scheme for RT mode provides three data structures for buffering incoming and outgoing data. Combined with the extensive interrupt capability, these structures serve to ensure data consistency while off-loading the host processor. The devices can optionally boot-up as RT with the busy bit set for 1760 applications. The BC mode implements several features aimed at providing an efficient real time software interface to the host processor including automatic retries, programmable intermessage gap times or message rate, automatic frame repetition and flexible interrupt generation. The NHi-15506 Aries family are pin-to-pin replacement devices for the DDC BU-65178 and BU-61688. These replacements offer a software and electrical compatible solution. A board designed with the DDC BU-65178 and BU-61688 can work seemlessly with the NHi-15506-178 and 15506-688 without hardware or software changes(*) (*) The NHi-15506 Aries family is designed to support the subset of the features used by most applications in order to provide a cost-effective replacement solution.
